Summer 2013: Hands On Cooking Class at Viking Store

For just $24.95, we'll have a hands on cooking class at the Viking Store in Midtown. The class stays in one room and you all cook your meal together under the guidance of a Chef. Cafe Italiano is the theme. At the end you'll all sit down to enjoy what you have just prepared. Parking is free. A wine and cheese party is included. Tickets are going fast!

Description: Regular Hands On Cooking Class The class stays in one room and you all cook your meal together. At the beginning, you are given a 10 -20 minute lesson in knife skills, sanitation, and kitchen etiquette. The group then cooks the meal together under the guidance of a Chef. At the end you all sit down to enjoy the what you have just prepared.

SPRING 2013: Celtic Woman, Dinner & Concert
April 30, 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. - SOLD OUT-
For just $24.95, alumni and guests dined at Gordon Biersch in the private loft and attended the Celtic Woman Concert at The Fabulous Fox Theatre.

Atlanta Botanical Gardens
Alumni, faculty/staff and their families joined us at the Alumni House for lunch and a trip to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens on Saturday, April 28. The cost was $20 per adult. Lunch, shuttle and ticket were included. Exhibits showing were Garden Gates and Atlanta Blooms.

Our 2012 first quarter Evening with the Arts was at the Shakespeare Tavern. For just $30, alumni and their guests joined us for light hors d'oeuvres and cocktails at the Alumni House and a chartered bus into Atlanta to see A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Shakespeare Tavern. Seating was in the balcony with staircase access. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the Shakespeare Tavern before the performance and at intermission.

Masquerade in the Moonlight

Saturday, October 29, 6 p.m. to midnight.
Our fourth quarter Evening with the Arts event will be at the historic haunted ruins of Barnsley Gardens Resort.
We'll meet in costume at the Alumni House at 6 p.m. to enjoy dinner and cocktails, then board a chartered bus to Barnsley Gardens for dancing and spooky fun.

Friday Jazz at the High Museum
Friday, September 16, from 5:30 until 11 p.m.
Cocktails, jazz and some of the most important art of the 20th Century.
For just $20, we'll be enjoying light hors d’oeuvres at the Alumni House and a chartered bus ride to the High Museum. The cost of your ticket is included as well. Free parking is available at the houses adjacent to the Alumni House.
Friday's artist is Gary Motley. "Recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Great American Jazz Piano Competition, and the American Composers Forum, Gary Motley has been featured in Downbeat Magazine and on Piano Jazz with Marian McPartland. His recording credits range from Russell Malone’s Black Butterfly to his most recent recording, Renaissance: A Tribute to Oscar Peterson. He has performed with Benny Golson, Eddie Daniels, Carmen Bradford, Kenny Barron, and Dave Brubeck, among others."

"The Color Purple" at the Fox Theatre-Highlights

On Saturday, June 18, at 8:00 p.m., The Fox Theatre presented "The Color Purple, The Musical About Love". Alumni and friends, many in cocktail attire or tuxes, met at The Alumni House and enjoyed cocktails and a seated buffet dinner. Then all boarded a chartered bus and were dropped off directly in front of the atrium of The Fox. The show included humor, love and at times, heartache. Our guests were able to meet a key cast member after the show. Tickets quickly sold out for this KSU Alumni Association event.
