Meet The Board
The Kennesaw State Alumni Association is governed by a 17-member Board of Directors. Five Officers and 12 Board Members serve the initiatives of the University and represent the perspectives of a diverse alumni community.
Teronzo Helm serves as President for the KSU Alumni Association. He is a graduate of Missouri Institute of Technology with an Electronic Engineering degree and Kennesaw State University with a M.B.A. in 2002, graduating with honors from both schools. He has served in various professional and executive roles at Hewlett Packard since 1983 and currently serves as a Global Business Critical Systems Unix Operations Manager, Worldwide at HP. He is presently a member of the advisory executive education board and a member of the Executive MBA Student Alumni board at KSU.
Steven Ellis is Vice President for the Kennesaw State University Alumni Association. He is a 2003 graduate of the University’s Political Science program. While attending KSU Steven was the SGA President for the 2002-2003 school year. Following his KSU experience, Steven attended John Marshall Law School where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2007. Currently, he is the Assistant Solicitor General for the Cobb County Solicitor General's office.
Carly Hutchison is the Financial Secretary/Secretary for the Kennesaw State University Alumni Association. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Clayton State University in 2009 and received her Master of Accounting from Kennesaw State University in 2011. Currently, Carly is an Audit Associate for HLB Gross Collins, P.C.
William "Billy" Hayes is the immediate Past President of the KSU Alumni Association. He received his undergraduate degree from Jacksonville State University in Accounting and Finance and earned an Executive M.B.A. from KSU in 2001. He has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Northside Hospital-Cherokee since 2004. Prior to healthcare, Billy began his career in the transportation industry and continued for seven years in various financial positions ranging from Controller to Chief Financial Officer. In 2006, Billy was recognized with the Distinguished Alumni Award by the Alumni Association.
Caryn Young is the Interim Director for the Office of Alumni Affairs at Kennesaw State University and serves as an officer of the Alumni Association. She also graduated from Kennesaw State, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2001 and a Master of Professional Writing degree in 2008. Caryn joined the Office of Alumni Affairs in 2008 as the Annual Giving Professional, later taking on the role of Associate Director in which she oversees alumni programs and communications.
Brad Borum is a Director-at-Large for the Kennesaw State University Alumni Association. He earned his Masters in Governmental Administration at KSU in 1998. Currently, Brad manages governmental relations at Kaiser Permanente overseeing legislative affairs and public policy. In addition to his work with the Alumni Association, Brad also serves as a member of the Board of Directors with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
Steve Butler currently serves as a Director-at-Large for the Kennesaw State University Alumni Association. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from KSU in 2000. Steve has more than a decade of experience in politics and government, having served with Grady Memorial Hospital, Fulton County Government and Georgia Department of Education. Currently, he is the Founder and CEO of Connect Public Relations Incorporated.
C. Suzanne Lako, a Director-At-Large, earned her finance degree from Kennesaw State in 1997. She is a Senior Associate with G.W. Henssler & Associates, where she has built an extensive 20-year career. Suzanne develops and sustains client relationships through a hands-on approach to financial management and leads teams in the configuration and support of the firm’s customer relationship management software.
Barbara Lusk serves as a board member for the Kennesaw State University Alumni Association. Graduating from KSU in 1995 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Barbara has 35 years of experience in the areas of for-profit and non-profit HealthCare accounting, budgeting, and financial planning. She is currently employed as the Controller for WellStar Health System, Inc. in Marietta, GA. Additionally, she is an advanced member of the GA Healthcare Financial Management Association and a charter member of the KSU chapter of Delta Sigma Pi.
Kip Meeboer is a Director-at-Large for the KSU Alumni Association. He graduated in 1990 with a Masters of Business Administration. Kip is a veteran of the United States Navy and continues to serve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol, The Civillan Auxiliary to the United States Air Force. Professionally, he serves as the Director for Special Projects and Business Development for Verdant Energy Solutions, Inc. Kip is a SCUBA Advanced Open Water Diver and Airline Transport pilot.
Mandy Moyer, a 2008 Kennesaw State political science graduate, earned her juris doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law. Mandy is an associate attorney with Dyer & Rusbridge, P.C. in Canton, Georgia, where she concentrates on probate, estate planning and small-business law. The native of Cherokee County is civically involved with the Junior Service League of Woodstock and the Canton Paw Park Association.
Ashlie Pendley is a Director-at-Large for the KSU Alumni Association. A recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award, Ashlie graduated from KSU with a degree in Communications in 1996. She has been the President of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences since 2011. Ashlie has earned awards such as 2011 Georgia Trend Magazine, “40 Under 40: Georgia’s Best and Brightest” and the 2005 Southeastern Regional Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Achievement: Television Specialized Programming Excellence. Currently, she is an independent freelance writer and producer.
Jaclyn Rausch earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Kennesaw State University. She received a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting in 2008 and a master of accounting degree in 2013. Jacki is currently employed as controller at G.W. Henssler & Associates, working closely with the managing director and chief operating officer in regards to cash flow, expenses, forecasts, and budgets.
Michael E. Russell serves as a Director-at-Large for the Kennesaw State University Alumni Association. He earned his Bachelor of Science from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1985 and an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Kennesaw State in 1992. Michael is involved in numerous organizations such as the Marietta Kiwanis, Leadership Cobb Alumni Association, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Board of Advisors. He was recently honored with the 2013 National Channel Partners 360° Award. Currently, he is President of Elite Telecom Services.
Dean Yoder, a 2013 recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award, earned a bachelor’s degree in middle grades education in 2006, a master’s degree in educational leadership in 2006, and an educational leadership specialist certification in 2012 – all from Kennesaw State. The former assistant principal for the Marietta Center for Advanced Academics is now an assistant principal at Dunleith Elementary School, also in the Marietta City Schools system.
