Night at the Museum

Review by Robert Cairns:
Thanks for the wonderful event we had last night. The exhibits were very informative, and tied-into the books and manuscripts so well! It was also obvious that the Curators and speakers have a passion for the history and knowledge presented, and an enthusiasm for sharing it, and presenting it in a creative way!
Touring the Rare Book rooms was simply an incredible experience. Learning the history of the rooms, the painstaking detail to re-create a 18th century personal library, and the items that further educated us on the theme of the exhibit was a perfect ending to a perfect night.
Thanks, again, for this wonderful experience. (I posted a link a Facebook!).

Shakespeare Tavern

Our 2012 first quarter Evening with the Arts was at the New American Shakespeare Tavern. For just $30, alumni and guests joined us for light hors d'oeuvres and cocktails at the Alumni House and a chartered bus into Atlanta to see the sold out show, A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Shakespeare Tavern. Door to door service on a "Big Owl Bus" is really the way to enjoy a Saturday night in Atlanta. The Tavern was packed with people, including children who were just as delighted by the comedy as the adults. The superb acting made the words of Shakespeare quite accessible to our ears. Food and beverages were available for purchase before the performance and at intermission.
Masquerade in the Moonlight

Barnsley Gardens were rockin' Saturday night. KSU Alumni and guests filled the ruins of the Barnsley house with dancing, mischief and spooky fun. A dj, fortune teller and beautiful and creative costumes were the night's entertainment. It was a brisk October evening, and all enjoyed the outdoor heaters and roaring fires, not to mention the cash bar.
